Resiblock Indian Stone Sealant
First Coat Application

Many of the other samples had a stage photograph taken one week after initial application. For complicated reasions involving lack of time, necessity to help with care of grandchildren, and general incompetence, this product was accidentally missed out.

Comments:

For a product declaring itself to be invisible, it was very noticeably visible in the Spring of 2016, but then all but disappeared over the following 6 months so that, come September, it really was invisible.

There is some minor algal growth and a litle dirt in the ridges of this heavily riven sample piece, but the change in appearance over the summer is the most worrying thing. Would this stone need re-treating before facing another season?

Comments:

When applying the stains to this piece, the red wine seemed to vanish into the stone with astonishing speed, so much so that two further wine 'stains' were applied to be sure of getting a fair result. The BBQ fat, too, was rapidly absorbed, it seemed.

Yet, of all the stains, it's the red wine which seems to have had least impact. The wine stain on the right-hand, untreated side is still evident, suggesting the sealnt must work, somehow, despite it's apparent thirst, but the results with the greases (Oil and Fat) are very disappointing, as is the impact of the mosskiller. The ink has obviously left a quickly-dried outer ring, while the inner, which took longer to dry, has not managed to bond to the surface as effectively, but, the fact is that the stain is still visible.

If you're in the habit of slopping wine everywhere, then maybe this will be a suitable product to protect your stone paving, but don't be tempted to eat burgers, tinker with the mower engine, try your hand at calligraphy or treat the moss in the lawn.

Note: Any apparent variation in colour of the flagstone is due solely to changes in the condition of the natural daylight at the time the photograph was taken.

Other than cropping to exclude extraneous background and adding a drop shadow to the cropped image, there has been NO post-processing of the original photographs.
