Joining Interlay

Congratulations on taking the first step towards Interlay membership. At the foot of this page you will find links to download the Interlay membership application form in various formats and further details about the organisation.

Membership of Interlay makes you part of the exclusive group of block paving contractors nationwide who are officially recognised as the elite of the profession. Our aim is to provide companies with guidance, advice and support, whilst giving the public peace of mind and an assured quality of service and workmanship.

Interlay is the only recognised trade association for paving contractors. Whether you specialise in residential, commercial or mechanical contracts, membership of Interlay is reassurance to customers that in every respect, your standards are in line with the highest national standards of laying, both in the quality of workmanship and in compliance with the Interlay Code of Practice.

The costs:

There's no such thing as a free lunch, and Interlay has to pay its way as does everyone else in the trade. However, as a not-for-profit organisation, costs are kept to a minimum and the aim is to provide real value-for-money in terms of technical support, guidance and skill development.

Step 1:

When you submit your application form, a one-off enrolment fee of £150.00 plus VAT (£176.25) is required. Your cheque should be made payable to the British Precast Concrete Federation Ltd. and enclosed with your completed application form.

This enrolment fee is used to cover the costs of sending out an assessor, checking references and verifying insurance details.

Step 2:

You application form is checked and, if there are any errors, you will be contacted and advised on how to rectify these. However, all this simply delays your application so please spend a few minutes checking that ALL the details you enter onto the application form are legible, valid and correct.

Once the vetting procedure has been completed, you will be informed of the decision as soon as possible. If, for whatever reason, Interlay are unable to accept your application, the enrolment fee will be returned in full. You are NOT expected to pay for an unsuccessful application. However, if it is judged that your application only just misses the standards expected, you'll be offered the opportunity to undergo specific training to update your skills and your application will be re-considered.

Step 3:

Congratulations! You've met or exceeded the standards expected of members of Interlay and are now eligible to become a full member.

The annual membership subscription is £325.00 plus vat (£381.88).

In the first year, this is charged pro rata to the period of Membership. So, for example, if you were to join at a time when there was only 6 months of that membership year remaining, you'd only have to pay half the annual fee.

Remember: all these fees and charges are fully tax deductible.
